I am an Asian-American from Honolulu,HI. The culture in Hawaii and mainland America is very different so many people who move here from another state feels like their in a different country in a good way. I am of Filipino and Japanese decent but because I am localized in the Hawaii culture and my features differ from the 2 ethinicities (Round eyes, tall, fair skin,thick eye brows) people consider me looking mixed. I am aware racism still exist in America but in a more passive way. I heard of a story from a gyspy (Roma) girl who ran away from Europe and moved to Canada because of the violent racism that exists against gypsies. I did not know gypsy was its own race until I learned about its people and they even have their own language. I am aware of the stereotype that gypsies steal but not all of them steal and it wouldn't make a difference if a white man stole because stealing is stealing. Also I know Europe is home to the main churches of christianity and that gypsies were the ones who started palm reading which caused discrimination for witchcraft. Palm reading is no different than horoscopes that are meant for entertainment purposes. I heard people in Europe only give whites the opportunities. It is hard to own a business or a mortgage if you are not white. she lived in the czech republic. I knew a filipino who went there to experience living and people treated him cruelly because of the color of his skin. I do not believe the czech republic should be considered a developed country.
